What to bring
What to bring – and how to prepare for a shoot.
Clothes – In picking your outfits think about a theme or a range of what you want to capture. Some people bring some pieces that range from casual to elegant. Others may bring their collection of vintage ball gowns or their finds from a shopping spree in New York. Lingerie shoots are a great gift to give or receive. Make sure your undergarments work under your outfits. It’s your shoot so you can play fashion guru.
Shoes – an outfit isn’t complete without the right shoes! Consider whether you need stockings for your out fit or to make you legs look their best. Self tanner is best when applied a few days prior.
Accessories & Jewelry – the right accessories or earrings can add the final touch to a look. Belts, bags hats, scarves and gloves are often overlooked possibilities. After you’ve chosen your wardrobe lay it out on your bed to see if everything works together and you have everything you need.
(Tip – if you are going to have something more exposed remember to not wear tight clothes or underwear beforehand.)
Make up – Any make up pro will tell you that 25% of the make up applied is lost in a photo, so amplify what you usually do. Eyeliner or lash-line eye shadow and brow make up are a good idea to define the eyes adequately for the camera, even if you don’t normally wear it. But it must be well blended—otherwise the camera picks it up as a hard line. A good, opaque foundation and cover up is important for even skin tone, and powder is essential to reduce shine under the hot lights.
Even if you are having your make up done by one of our pros, it is a good idea to bring some of your own cosmetics.
Hair- bring your hair accessories and tools – brushes, clips, ties, combs, bobby pins, curling irons, styling products, etc.
Manicure and Pedicure – The extra finishing touch.
